Roads to Power and Wandering Nobles are coming to Crusader Kings III Console this May

Roads to Power and Wandering Nobles are coming to Crusader Kings III Console this May

Two major add-ons for Crusader Kings III: Console Edition are arriving on May 11—and we’re proud to have developed them both in partnership with Paradox Interactive.

Roads to Power, a major expansion, and Wandering Nobles, a new event pack, together represent one of the biggest updates to the console edition since launch. Both will be available on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, and included for owners of Crusader Kings III: Chapter III

    What’s in Roads to Power

Roads to Power introduces a new Administrative Government system modeled on the Byzantine Empire, giving players an entirely different way to experience medieval rule. Governors jockey for position, merit competes with intrigue, and only a truly skilled Emperor can keep it all together.

The expansion also adds a completely new way to play: the Landless Adventurer. For the first time, players can roam the map freely—untied to any realm or holding—fulfilling contracts, building a reputation, and earning their way to land through merit rather than birthright.

Other additions include the Family Estate system, an Influence mechanic for climbing the imperial hierarchy, new succession mechanics, and Byzantine-themed flavor content including chariot racing.

    What’s in Wandering Nobles

Wandering Nobles adds a new Wandering Lifestyle with three branches—Inspector, Wayfarer, and Voyager—each opening new activities and events tied to travel. Characters can survey their realm, reduce stress on wilderness hikes, or set forth on monument expeditions to see special buildings in other realms.

    The community response

The announcement has been met with enthusiasm from the CKIII console community, with fans reaction on the Paradox forums proving pretty much universally positive:

    | “Room 8 you gave this game the greatest comeback ever you lovely people”

    | “Both at the same time is quite a surprise! Thank you Room 8.”

    | “-200 stress from reading this great news. Thank you room 8 for your hard work.”

“It’s feedback like this that makes all of our teams’ efforts truly worthwhile,” said Yann Le Tonsorer, Vice President of Technology at Room 8 Group. “Delivering both expansions simultaneously was no small undertaking, and seeing the community respond with this level of warmth and delight is something our specialists are genuinely proud of.”

Roads to Power and Wandering Nobles launch for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 on May 11, 2026. For more information, head here
