Yoan Aleksiev at gamescom dev 2026: Filling the gaps in modern game production

As game production grows in complexity, tech art increasingly sits at the intersection of tools, pipelines, and creative workflows. The challenge is no longer just building tools—but building the right tools, at the right time, without adding unnecessary complexity.
At gamescom dev 2026, Yoan Aleksiev, our Tech Art Engineering Director, will take on exactly that challenge in his session, “Filling the gaps: practical tech art and tooling in a post-LLM production world.”
Drawing on real production experience across multiple projects, Yoan will share a practical, engine-agnostic approach to tech art tooling: how to identify actual needs using production data, build tools that scale across teams and projects, and adapt as production environments continue to change.
He’ll also look at what LLM adoption is teaching teams in practice—where these tools help, where they still fall short, and how the role of tech artists is evolving alongside them.

Yoan brings 10+ years in game development and experience across 15+ titles, including Life is Strange 2, Dead by Daylight, GodFall, and Assassin’s Creed Origins. His work spans tools, rendering, optimization, and R&D, with a focus on building systems that scale across teams, engines, and project types.
If practical tech art, production tooling, or the realities of working with LLMs are on your radar, come catch the session in Cologne.
