At Room 8 Group, we are dedicated to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) as a core part of our culture. We believe that embracing diverse perspectives drives innovation and creativity. Our DEI policy, developed over the years, addresses recruitment, professional development, promotions, and well-being programs. By taking a comprehensive approach, we aim to align all areas of our business with DEI values and continually improve our practices.
Our DEI Implementation Approach
Education
From 2023 we’ve placed a strong emphasis on education for our specialists. We offer ongoing learning and development courses through our LMS platform. These courses cover important topics such as DEIB Mastery, How to Recognize and Overcome Bias, LGBTQ+ Ally Training, and Cross-Cultural Communications. During this time, more than 1000 specialists completed DEI-related training, helping to gradually build awareness and engagement across our global teams.
DEI Awareness
Awareness plays an important role in our DEI efforts. Every year, we organize campaigns to highlight the value of diversity and inclusion. We also celebrate Pride Month in June with our teams around the world, and in 2024, we introduced DEI Weeks—a campaign designed to raise awareness of our goals and progress.
As part of our efforts toward Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), we are committed to making sure our workplace is free from discrimination. We promote cultural diversity by celebrating local holidays and traditions across our offices in Europe, North America, and South America, helping to nurture a sense of belonging and inclusion within our team.
Empowerment
At Room 8 Group, we want to foster an environment where specialists feel comfortable bringing their authentic selves to work.
We believe all these initiatives are important steps in ensuring Room 8 Group is a company where everyone feels respected, valued, and appreciated for who they are.
Gender Equality and Equal Opportunities
Since 2021, we’ve proudly served as ambassadors for Women in Games, supporting its mission to prioritize gender diversity in the industry. We see this as a strategic business case for building stronger teams, gaining valuable insights, and fostering innovation. We believe that greater diversity, and in turn a broader range of perspectives, are key to driving the industry forward.
We ensure that all genders—whether male, female, non-binary, or transgender—enjoy equal opportunities and rights. DEI principles are embedded in all our Talent Acquisition Policies to ensure a fair and unbiased recruitment process. Similarly, we uphold fairness in promotions, transfers, and termination decisions, with equal pay for specialists in the same roles and responsibilities.
Supporting Specialists with Disabilities
We are committed to creating a supportive and flexible working environment for specialists with disabilities. We offer adaptable work hours and provide medical care tailored to the specific needs of our team members and country locations, ensuring they have everything they need to succeed.
Steps to enhance our DEI
Safe Speak is part of our commitment to maintaining a respectful, inclusive workplace, as outlined in our Code of Ethics and Business Conduct Policy.
We also comply with DEI legislation in all the countries where we operate. Recently, we were proud to have our Equality Plan for our legal entity in Spain approved by government authorities, marking another milestone in our DEI journey.
Celebrating DEI with Our Team
We recently introduced a DEI-themed drop in our company’s Gift Store, featuring a special T-shirt, sticker pack, and key holder, available to all our specialists.
At Room 8 Group, DEI is more than just a policy—it’s something we strive to embody in everything we do. We’re working towards a more inclusive, equitable, and diverse workplace, creating great games while aiming to make a positive impact on the world around us.
