Dear Industry Colleagues & Friends,
We at ROOM 8 GROUP (Room 8 Studio and Dragon’s Lake Entertainment) are monitoring the COVID-19 situation closely like everyone else in the world. We are focused on taking care of our people while working to meet the needs of our partners. Today we share actions that we’ve taken to sustain the Group’s work as best we can while preserving everyone’s health and safety.
- At ROOM 8 GROUP, the safety of our team and the commitment to our clients are our top priorities. That is why we are transitioning our staff to work remotely while preserving all security measures. Our objective is to ensure our team remains safe and healthy while your business continues to receive secure stable support and deliveries. We have created an Emergency Business Continuity Team whose focus is to implement remote access protocols and facilitate this transition.
- Currently, all ROOM 8 GROUP staff are well. A significant part of the team is already working from the comfort and safety of their own homes. Additional safety measures have been implemented at the office to reduce risks for those who will start their remote work later this week and are currently focused on supporting the infrastructure needed for remote access.
- All of our Business Development Managers and Producers are in contact with clients on the current state of their projects. We understand and expect that we will need to be flexible and work with our clients on a case-by-case basis depending on the project and the client. We will do everything we can to minimize health risks while meeting the needs of each project.
- Geographically, we are lucky to be away from the epicenters of the pandemic. In Ukraine, with a total population of 37 million, there are currently seven confirmed cases, with only two cases in Kyiv, where the Group is located.
- The Ukrainian government, the Public Health Center (PHC) of the Ministry of Health and local authorities have implemented precaution measures to limit the spread of the virus. They include restrictions on mass events, quarantine in all educational institutions and significant limitations and/or additional disinfection in public transportation and other public places. A total ban on rail, air and bus intercity and interregional passenger transport services, as well as the suspension of the underground metro in Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Dnipro. (more about prevention measures).
- Additionally, here in Ukraine since March 17, there has been a temporary closure of scheduled international travel. All businesses have been encouraged to move to a work-from-home model when possible.
One of the greatest things about the video game industry is its products put smiles on people’s faces. At Room 8 Studio and Dragon’s Lake Entertainment, we consider ourselves lucky to contribute to the industry and help people smile. Our commitment to our team, our partners and the industry has never been stronger.
Be Safe, Stay Well & Keep Smiling,
Sviatoslav Pohrebnoi, CEO
