Today, three of the biggest waves in the games industry are cloud gaming, user-generated content (UGC), and, of course, artificial intelligence (AI).
To take a closer look at all three areas, we teamed up with 80 Level, a leading media company with a technical focus on game development, to conduct research and write an extensive report based on our findings. You can download that report now.
Broadly, this new report focuses on the present, future, and main opportunities and challenges of UGC, AI, and cloud gaming. It is a snapshot of where they are now and where they might go, concluding with a section on how all three might eventually converge.
In partnership with 80 Level, we interviewed nine experts as part of our research to share insights on these areas that, for better or worse, will be important in gaming for many years to come.
Those experts are:
- Benjamin Paquette, Senior Game Director, Room 8 Group
- Yann LeTensorer, VP of Technology, Room 8 Group
- Guillaume Carmona, VP of Game Development, Room 8 Group
- Shayan Sanyal, Global Games Industry BD Leader, AWS
- Scott Reismanis, CEO, mod.io
- Daphne Parot, CMO, Blacknut
- Manolis Emmanouilidis, Co-Founder, Arcware
- Jan Sechovec, Technology Director, Revolgy (Cloud Gaming Department)
- Štěpán Kaiser, Global GameTech Lead, Revolgy
Will cloud gaming ever overcome its latency issues? If AI is widely adopted by devs, how do we ensure it is used safely and legally? What might traditional games learn from games like Roblox and Minecraft about how to nurture UGC?
